SME is the technical
organization for professionals in the mineral industry. It addresses their
needs through its four divisions: Coal, Industrial Minerals, Mining &
Exploration and Mineral & Metallurgical Processing; the Minerals Resource
Management Committee and the newly-created Environmental Division. SME members
have the technical expertise, acquired through training and experience, to
pioneer innovations and to make the decisions that generate growth in an
industry facing increasing challenges.
