The Society for Mining,
Metallurgy, and Exploration, Inc. advances the worldwide mining and
minerals community through information exchange and professional

quality technical information to its members on a global level.
SME is the forum for leaders
of international mining and minerals organizations to share and disseminate
knowledge and information.
SME is active in providing
the public with an understanding of what mining and minerals mean for

knowledge and skills of mineral professionals. With more than 16,000 members
in 25 countries, the society continues to evolve in response to the changing
needs of its members around the world.
SME is the technical
organization for professionals in the mineral industry. It addresses their
needs through its four divisions: Coal, Industrial Minerals, Mining &
Exploration and Mineral & Metallurgical Processing; the Minerals Resource
Management Committee and the newly-created Environmental Division. SME members
